Bra Rolls and Back Fat can be frustrating to embarrassing. Excess upper back fat gets squeezed above and below the bra strap. Using easily hidden 5mm incisions in the armpit or lower back, the superficial back fat can be easily removed. To obtain a smooth back without rolls, the skin must redrape over the back muscles. You will need to arrange for a friend or loved one to drive you home from the procedure, and you will likely need to refrain from eating or drinking for at least 12 hours before your surgery.
Liposuction Recovery
The recovery timeline can vary depending on the extent of your specific liposuction procedure surgical plan. Those who undergo a local anesthetic procedure will likely need less time to recover than those with more extensive procedures under general anesthesia. In most cases, patients can return to light work after about a week or two, but will feel discomfort in the days leading up to this point.
Immediately after surgery, you will have bandages and in some cases drains that Dr. Ditesheim will provide care instructions for during a consultation. Your activity level and range of motion for things like bending over and lifting objects will be reduced until you’re more fully healed. Most Charlotte liposuction patients see full results after swelling and bruising has gone significantly down, usually at around the six-week mark.
Your Liposuction Recovery Timeline
It’s important to remember that your recovery may differ from anyone else’s. Likewise, recovery processes can vary with the different techniques used, but in general, you can expect:
Day 1
The most important thing during this time is keeping pressure off your treated area. Compression garments or an ice pack will be critical to keeping the swelling down. Pain and anti-inflammatory medication are also essential to keep on hand. Depending on what your provider recommends, medication like acetaminophen and ibuprofen can help with pain and swelling. As your body heals, keep the treated area elevated to reduce swelling. Bleeding and oozing from the incisions is normal, and bruising around the treated zone is also common. It’s also important to stay hydrated and nourished at this phase, so make sure to eat soft foods and drink sufficient water.
WEEK 1
You should see improvement in the pain, bruising, and swelling you’ve experienced. Bandages can typically be removed after day 3, but your should plan to take it easy. Gentle exercise is usually fine, but make sure to refrain from stretching or putting excess pressure on the treated areas. Patients can usually return to work during this time.
WEEK 2
Almost all of your pre-procedure routine can generally be resumed. Your work and daily life should be able to approach normality. From work to exercise to wrangling your energetic family, these activities should be safe to rejoin.

Extraordinary experience! I always feel safe and protected with Dr. Ditesheim and his staff. I call him Dr. Miracle Hands. Several years ago, I found him after I was unsatisfied with a tummy tuck I received in Raleigh. Dr. Ditesheim listened and fixed everything. I told him I wanted my breast lifted at later date. Six years later, I went back and he worked another miracle. I am 45 and look 30 years old. I look AMAZING. He did a breast lift, no implants, lipo, and Renuvion to smooth my skin in arms and thighs. The stretch marks on my thighs have been reduced so much, I walked the beach with confidence 3 weeks after procedure! Pain was minimal. In life we are made to believe, "if it seems to good to be true," then most likely it is not true. However, when it comes to the masterful cosmetic surgical practice of Dr. Ditesheim, this ideal is not true. The very moment that the procedure was complete, I visually realized that "if it is to good to be true," then it has to be true, for Dr. Ditesheim had changed my body forever. For any guy out there that is contemplating liposuction, I say go for it, it is really a life changing experience. Furthermore, I 100% recommend Dr. Ditesheim, he is experienced, professional and understands the surgical point of view and needs of the male body.

I have been over 310 pounds for over 15 years. 4 years ago I had gastric bypass. I lost 126 pounds but still had a TON of skin left over. I saw several plastic surgeons over a few years preparing for my next step in my weight loss journey. I even saw what I thought was a highly regarded surgeon locally. I found his accolades in several magazines and heard his advertisements not knowing they were all paid for. When I went there I was given to a surgeon who was NOT board certified. That coupled with his plan to create over 6 major scars on my body caused me to search for another surgeon. I found Dr. Ditesheim through the web and a referral from a friend. When I met Dr. Ditesheim and his staff I was amazed at their level of knowledge and their level of care. I had researched what I thought I needed to have done and went in with a plan. Dr. D, Susie, and JJ listened to my plan and asked several key questions. As they asked these questions it revealed that my plan wasn't what was best for me. They constantly referred back to my health, my recovery, and my ultimate outcome. As we developed this plan they consulted every aspect of my life. They wanted to know what support I had, if I had enough time to recover, when I needed to get back to work, and if I was mentally prepared for the surgery. As prepared as I was it still was going into unknown territory for me. As an expert in my field I know all the ins and outs. I try to prepare all of my clients for what to expect but I know that it is uncharted territory for them. I knew this is what Dr. D and the staff were doing for me. They gave me all the tools I needed to make the best decision I could but I did have to trust their wisdom, and expertise to take me through the whole experience. I had my first surgery on 2/6/14. This was the most invasive, a full tummy tuck. I had over 10 pounds of skin, and tissue to be removed. I have never been a small girl but for the first time in my life I wore a bikini to the beach this summer. That was never my goal but it was/is a glorious outcome I never expected. My last surgery was 11/6/14. I am just two weeks out from having Aquashape liposuction to my entire thighs, bat wing arms, and some to my torso. I am already beyond thrilled with the results and I am still very swollen. I can’t imagine having anyone else perform my surgeries. I have even referred several gastric patients to Dr. D. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Ditesheim and his amazing staff. I am SO pleased with the results of my breast augmentation. I couldn't be happier with the outcome, wow! I also chose to have the Aquashape liposuction procedure done a few months later. Although the recovery time was lengthy and uncomfortable, I am happy with the results. Dr. Ditesheim is a fantastic surgeon. I am also very pleased with the follow up visits I have received after both surgeries. Susie, JJ and Jan are absolute gems. "SO MANY THANKS to Dr. Ditesheim and his staff. My entire experience with this office was excellent. I requested a consult for lipo on some trouble spots that did not respond to significant weight loss and extreme exercise. From the welcoming office staff to the skilled nurses and Dr. Ditesheim himself, everyone made me feel comfortable and reassured before, during and after my procedure. Dr. Ditesheim was a pleasure to work with, he takes his work very seriously, and spent a lot of time with me to make sure he understood my wishes and then developed a plan to make this happen. Shout outs to Jan, JJ and Susie who were so personable and adapted visits and follow-ups to my very busy schedule. The procedure went well, a surprisingly quick recovery for my significant surgery and I was back to my normal, very active and hectic routine within days. Pre- and post-op phone calls by the staff were greatly appreciated and they gave me every possible cell phone/email to use should I have any post-op concerns.
